Well with no opt out, it looks like the left now tell parents who will teach their children, if safe schools is any indication can they be trusted not to teach their lifestyle choice to children?

KAMBALA school principal Debra Kelliher has spoken out in support of a letter that admonishes parents who have complained about the hiring of gay teachers at the Anglican girls school.

Ms Kelliher said the school was devoted to embracing diversity as broadly as possible.

School Council President Sally Herman did not mince words in a strongly worded letter to parents on Wednesday in which she took a firm stance against homophobia.

“In recent days, two families have stridently expressed their displeasure at Kambala for, in their opinion, not living up to our Christian values by hiring and retaining teachers who are gay,” Ms Herman wrote.

“At the core of their displeasure is a concern that their daughters may be exposed to messages or values that they do not personally agree with.”

Ms Kelliher threw her support behind Ms Herman, a prominent businesswoman who sits on the boards of Suncorp and Premier Investments.

“It’s about reminding people of our common humanity and that we are very much a contemporary, inclusive school and I hope the culture of our school reflects that,” Ms Kelliher said.

“This is 2016 and our parents are sophisticated and many of them work in places with strong diversity policies so they expect the school to respect the society our girls move in.”

Ms Kelliher said the school was devoted to embracing diversity as broadly as possible.
