Don't forget that in both UK and Australia the migrants settle in the poorer areas and effect the education of ordinary children, not the rich who can afford private schools. I left UK for those reasons in 1972 for White Australia (remember it?). The young couples with us in the hostel all gave that and the weather as the two reasons they left home. Nobody liked immigration then and I don't imagine East European immigration is any more popular, especially if they work harder for less.
