Elkedra Diamonds (EDN) reports the results of its sixth diamond sale
since start-up of the Chapada mine, with the latest independent
valuation of production for the period 5 December through to 8 January
achieving an average price of US$400/ct for a total revenue of
US$799,942.
This parcel of 1,995 carats consisted of 3,704 stones with an
average stone size of 0.54 cts /stone. The sale parcel included 2 stones
in excess of 10 carats in size, the largest of which was 13.45 carats,
achieving an average value of US$3,436/ct.
There were 3 stones in the 10 carat size range averaging
US$1,581/ct and a 9.10 carat stone at US$2,700/ct.
Since start-up in June 2006, the Chapada project has produced,
to 8 January 2007, a total of 10,669carats (21,968 stones), for a total
value of US$4,219,238.
