Staghorns/Elkhorns are the easiest plants to grow. I live in Kalgoorlie where we get extreme heat in summer and frosts in winter.
They are under a cape lilac tree which gives them full shade in summer and sun during the colder months.
Keep them watered, a bit of extra feed now and again like banana peel and they thrive.
I would have bought the one on offer to you and correctly fixing segments (it's easy) on a board or tree trunk would have been a bonus. I split one four ways about 18 months ago and all four are thriving.
Once you buy one you never have to buy another.
