I think you need to factor the election into things. Trump has been putting ridiculous pressure on the FDA to approve things for political reasons (i.e., to help his election chances) and financial reasons (to help out his cronies that are pushing these spurious treatments).
With the election decided, and whether Trump wins or loses, he DOES NOT GIVE A SH*T about COVID. That being said, if there is something that works, it's a no-brainer for him to push it to try to be able to say "SEE, I TOLD YOU THERAPEUTICS WERE COMING!!". So I can see him touting it.
Similarly, if Biden wins, I can see the FDA very eager to tout positive results from a properly-managed triple-blind RCT. It's a way for them to regain a bit of face after the recent debacles, and to make clear that they were forced to push hydroxychlorquine and Remdesivir against their will by a now discredited, rejected administration, but Rem-L is an example of how to do things "RIGHT".
So I am quietly confident that our odds are GOOD after the election.
