Clean Teq will be into whatever is needed. They have nickel coming and an inside track on cobalt, vanadium, zinc, and also graphene through Ionic Industries.

Why would he be looking for long-term off-take if he didn't think he was going to need
cobalt ?
You cannot count on this at face value. Of course they are working feverishly to reduce cobalt useage.
But how long do you think it will be before a new battery formulation is proven for putting into production ? Let's see the formulations.
IMO this is public posturing to negotiate prices and soften up the suppliers.

The big variable is not the tech applications, it is the cobalt coming out of DRC.
And oh-by-the-way, What are those poor artisianal miners and children going to do for a living when Elon has his alternative ? Without cobalt useage, do you think we we will go from worrying about child labor, to worrying about artisianal miner starvation ?
There would be, but no one really gives a damn in the first place. One can see from this lack of concern about the artisianals that the outcry over child labor in the DRC is BS.
