Neither would I and I would be the last person to buy one. I was brought up in the days of Falcon GTS, and electric cars of any kind have no appeal to me at all. But they won't be bought by people like me, or probably the people who read the HC auto thread. They will be bought by the type who buy Priuses but with a bit of flair. That is, millions of everyday Americans. The sort of people who have little mechanical knowledge but who want what the Tesla offers. Good looks, sporty, all the things we read about electric cars.
BMW and others will give him a run for his money, but a home-grown American electric car will sell in droves I would think.
Although I hate to admit it, the electric era is coming big time. There must be a few in Australia, I saw one in Canberra some time ago. The new model is expected here by June next year.
