Elon Musk urges miners to mine more nickel

    Hi,

    I noticed in the following article from September 23rd 2020, titled "Tesla's move into lithium mining could weigh on prices: Morgan Stanley", that two key statements were made:

    "Musk added that nickel availability was important to scaling up battery manufacturing and urged miners to mine more nickel."

    and


    Tesla Powertrain and Energy Engineering division senior vice-president Drew Baglino added that nickel was the "cheapest and the highest energy density metal," making it a goal to increase nickel content and eliminate cobalt.

    Given that Mt. Thirsty is a Cobalt-Nickel project, and given the clear statements in the above article, would it not be far better for Mt. Thirsty to be developed solely as nickel deposit?

    I would appreciate the thoughts of the astute members of this forum as to whether this is a viable alternative.
