When he was in Australia recently Elon made contact with BHP..   Explaining the best NiCads have a lot more Nickel in their makeup so BHP would be wise to focus on the metal. given their standing as the worlds largest miner.   Anyhow they have agreed to do so, and now plans are afoot

Obviously he wasn't here long enough to discover the high grade deposits Western Areas hold, though he certainly would have known about the precarious position Philippine miners are now in with their operations.   Thus his call on BHP
