    from tim blair's blog. but it seems that the WSJ has claimed that the cost of the battery was us$50m  (ie =aus$66m), and good to provide 30,000 with 1 hour back up power.  that works out to be more than $2,000 per household.

    “They tried to get me to put in an electric charger for all these electric cars that he said were going to come from China in coming years. But I don’t really believe him,” he said. “We’ve just put in our own diesel generator to keep the power on.”

    mmm how many other businesses have installed their own diesel generator???  how many household have raced off to bunnings and bought a petrol generator ???
