The monthly fee for direct access to Chi-X Australia’s real-time market data feed (CHIXMD) via unicast networking is AU$700 (USD 457)

The ASX charges per trade and that charge depends on volume,but in general can be a few dollars per trade (CBA volumes) to as higher as $15.00 (give or take a buck) for smaller brokers .

So Chi-x you can trade as much as you wont for the one time monthly fee and do all the stupid trades you see like 5-10-16 shares and also in the match have your algo bid up or offer down and match a the close for 1 shares . Mathc the price so as the end of day revaluation suits their postions ...nice hey ????

If you look at the many of the small to midcap "ceasing to be a substantila holder" notices you will see most of the time it is hundreds of buys and sells with lots of those trades I menioned above for 1 share at a time . When you for example macquarie bank notice in small caps and some mid caps ....99% of time it simply relates to the holding being moved from their nominee to another banks nominee. Banks need to do this for different settlement purposes with equiy balances / cash netting /margin lending etc . See a exapmle form this last week below ..,, In this case it shows all trades while MBL Noms while another investors shares were held there and moved last week , but the report shows all trades in the nominee account for the period .
