Not an IT wiz like yourself but the below link sits in terms and conditions on the MTN arena link you have provided. I can't seem to access the below provided link in the T&C's. Would this be due to location issues or the site needing to still go live? Looks as though the link given below is the MTN driven one such as their MTN play website
4.1.1.1Going onto https://arena.mtn.co.za and selecting “Join now”. and be successfully billed at least 7 times for MTN Arena during each month of the competition, to be eligible for the tournament that user has entered. The MTN Arena subscription costs R3 per day
