You indirectly accuse the CEO of not being financial committed.
That is a little too glib. He did say that he had paid a good deal more for his holding. At a minimum that would be 1 cent per share.
I have no idea what his annual salary is, but doubt very much whether he earned $440,000 in after tax income to spent on shares so early in his tenure.
That is his own money on the table, and he is sharing the pain.
