Carr, Nathan etc. all seem to be advocating a return to the emphasis on daigou channels. The only other explanation I can think of is Gance is somehow under the mistaken impression that this would be achievable and beneficial to Chemist Warehouse?
Once upon a time smaller individual retail daigou, like international students, used to raid the shelves of supermarkets and chemists. However, it was precisely the larger corporate daigou operators like AZ Global who took over from them and began working with the manufacturers directly.
Which is why for the most part IF tins in retail stores sit on shelves gathering dust these days. People like Peter Nathan seem largely stuck in the past (as demonstrated by his failure to adapt with A2M) and seems like maybe Gance is on a similar wavelength.
