I don't know, selling down and walking away is what anyone with some integrity and humility might do. Those traits don't seem to factor in here.
For Andy this was probably motivated by influencing the legal situation, and potentially future distribution deals, whereas for all the other parties it seems pretty much motivated by spite and clinging to former status.
Correct me if I am wrong, but there is really nothing preventing these parties hanging around like a bad smell and capitalising on every stumble that BUB makes to turn the screws. What's to stop them trying this again in future, especially if the vote is close?
The best case scenario is really that the vote is a landslide against them, and then that (as you suggest) some of the parties need to realise their cash and put it to an alternative use.
