I'm with you; it's a potential minefield for a company to have an uncoordinated comm's campaingn run on its behalf. Forgetting shareholders, even for employees to break ranks and engage in PR with the press is a on-no.
With regards to comments on democracy. One of its founding fathers Benjamin Franklin, used a well planned strategy to gain power over those he opposed (his biography is great read.) Having a plan and a strategy is not at odds with democracy, it is a common attribute of success. Providing information is good. Providing it in an effective, directed, timed and focused way has proven over time to be more effective.
It does not follow that the efforts of others who are trying to bring the benefits of MHM's technologies to light is not right. It may just warrant some examination.
