The scan is finally finished... a klez virus and accompanying VB script.
The scanner only detected it in the text file that I had created from the bouncing email's message source... just dead text.
Couldn't clean it, couldn't remove it.
I wasn't aware that scanners simply look for the text string of a virus's filename. This would imply that my message above may be found to have a virus simply because I uttered the offending filename!?
Noteably, the scanner failed to pick it up in the actual email attachment sitting right there in my inbox... the real live virus!
The virus does not seem to be active on my computer (the attachment was never opened). The only reason that I became aware of a problem was because one of the virus's recipients happened to have overextended some quota (I'm guessing that his/her allocation on the email server was full), and the email was repeatedly "returned" to the supposed sender - me!
Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
Moral... don't read other people's email, even though it appears to be from yourself.
