All mining companies have experienced three stages:

1. Stage1: Exploration.
A company is foundered and issue shares to raise capital for conducting drilling in the mountain area to discover valuable resources.
Share price is normally xx cents. and always raise capital by issuing shares.

2. Stage2: Construction of Pilot Plant and Start Trial Production.
A company in this stage are busy with constructing Refinery Pilot Plant for extracting metals from ore, and start to conduct trial production.
As the company has not yet produced any product, it normally raise capital for building pilot plant by issuing shares, or by borrowing from banks / investment entities. whether a company is worth or not to

3. Stage3: Steady and expansion of production.
In this stage, a mining company start to return its share holders as it make profits.

Northern Minerals is now at the middle of second stage 2 and Lynas is at the beginning of stage 3, unfortunately Lynas made a strategic mistake by building the refinery Plant in Malaysia, and It had suffered a lot during 2010-2017, almost bankrupt. LYC share price must be over $3.0 if it has no licence issue.

Fortunately Northern minerals has no worries about raising capital and has only $2.5m debt, and the price of rate earth Dy oxide is going up. NTU start to return its share holders in 1-2 years, whilst LYC is going to disappear from ASX.
