Well it's happened and the Cambodian PM Hun Sen has more power than ever under the Covid-19 Emergency powers legislation granted by the National Assembly on Friday. Let's just hope he doesn't get over excited. I am hoping his Chinese masters will be keeping an eye on him and directing him in the right direction.
in my opinion it's a copy cat of Vietnam and Thailand who are winning the war against the virus by very strict controls on the population by emergency measures. Unlike those two countries I'm not sure PM Hun Sen will release the powers once this emergency is over. if he can control the Virus at present 120 to under 1000 and wipe it out then this could strengthen his sons ascension to the top job which is what he wants. The emergency powers will also give him the means to silence any critics on this nepotism.
