I wish it was a simple matter to expect quantum computing in our palm. Indeed Chetan Nayak, GM of microsoft quantum hardware has confirmed that their chip stays in the fridge. Their goal is to get a million qubits on that chip that can was held by Satya Nadella in his palm. It still stays in the fridge.
Pete Shaddbolt, chief scientific officer at Psiquantum says that he presents their quantum vision as something needing massive power infrastructure and cooling occupying a lot of real estate.
IF AXE manages to hit upon a way to do full blown quantum information processing on a chip at ambient temps, we won't have any meaningful number to put on its value. Stratosphere!
