Im in at an average of 3.18 and very pleased. ill respectfully mention to keep an eye on number of shares traded along with news and shareprice to establish genuine concern.* Many became very anxious of late with SP falling and burying ones head in the sand doesnt help either...i hate it when people lose money...One should at least be familiar with the 4 week and 12 week average volume of the stock...
The average is less affected by single day events, and is a better gauge of whether overall volume is rising or falling.
Sizable volume increases above these average levels signify something is changing in the stock that is attracting more interest. This could be good or bad depending on which way the price is heading.
Decreasing volume shows interest is waning, but even declining volume is useful because when higher volume returns there is often a strong price push as well. This Could be entry or exit for you..We are currently in low volume territory waiting for a catalyst.
Not to bore anyone, ill just say , SIGNIFICANT , changes in volume E.G 2x plus your 4 week average may signal that something is changing within the asset, and these changes may be unfavorable or favorable. Volume won't tell you which it is, but will let know that some further research or action may be required. Its the canary in the cave and very easy to use , you dont need charts. I hope this gives some new to investing or that are not hands on a little heads up.
Also ill just mention to monitor the VWAP not just close price. Closing price can be easily manipulated and misleading...Today e.g people paid an average price of $3.215 for a share for EML.
