    The brokers price target follows the market when it should be the other way around and we saw that very clearly in the post covid tech bubble boom.

    so many 'analysts' had eye watering price targets for tech stocks like $Zip with a buy recommendation at $10+ and a 'Strong Buy' rating in 2021 when the valuations were craizily high and the stock had already boomed 10x. The same brokers would now have a 'sell' recommendation after the stock price has already fallen more than 90%.

    They do this to not look stupid and remain relevant.

    when markets are falling just on change in sentiment and you would typically see larger drops in the small cap and micro cap space,next minute these analysts will continue to revise down the target price for no apparent reason instead of revisiting the business case and talking fundamentals.

    Investing in stocks like EML is not for the faint hearted given the risks involved but i would be relying on my on research and valuation rather than focusing on these analysts with vested interests.

    Obviouslsy there are some good ones but they are far and few between.
