If you identify that there is a fatal flaw in the company, something that can bring it to complete ruin, then never average down. Just because its cheaper, doesn't make it better value.

Lets say you were on the titanic, as a third class ticket, and they didnt let you into the first class cocktails area. Would you upgrade your fare after the fatal hull breaches in order to sip fine wine when the water was rising over the bow?

If it turns out that the concerns are not warranted, then allow your original purchase to redeem its value.
