While on the subject of Olay Whips, I thought I would throw in some information on the Technology behind the new Olay Whips range and some details surrounding the time-frame to get this new range and Technology to market and a comparison to OBJ's DCE or now known as EMT - Emulsion Manipulating Technology.

Let's first take a peek @ Olay Regenerist Whip as an example:

Ten years in the making, this breakthrough weightless Whip formula is light as air without compromising the potency. This innovative moisturizer, with Active Rush Technology, transforms from cream to liquid on contact, flash absorbing and delivering a rush of anti-aging ingredients and hydration that lasts all day. Its hold-and-release delivery system holds 1000x its weight in hydration and active ingredients. When this Whip moisturizer is applied to your skin, it instantly releases the powerful hydration and actives for immediate absorption.

Olay Regenerist Whip contains all the already proven deliverable ingredients via OBJ/P&G MicroArray, including Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 & Niacinamide which bodes well for future OBJ tech integration:

The 'Active Rush' Technology Trademark was first brought to our attention by Jase on 28/06/2017:

    https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/olay-whip.3511983/page-9?post_id=25533621#.WlQBQFWWbe5

Now just over six months later, we see products on shelves with in-store promotional material and a front-line online presence across many websites including the US Olay website:

So now this brings me to DCE - Dynamically Configurable Emulsion and the current connection of DCE to P&G or as it now seems to be known as -  EMT - Emulsion Manipulation Technology:

It took 10 years for P&G to develop and commercialise Active Rush Technology.  How long do we feel it will take them to move on OBJ's DCE/EMT?  DCE was first  mentioned by OBJ on 24/06/2015 when the original patent was filed:

    http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20150624/pdf/42zcyhp6gxm7l5.pdf

The above announcement highlighted that DCE/EMT had been under development for 18 months, which means DCE/EMT was born around the beginning of 2014 - 'Dynamically Configurable Emulsion technology ("DCE") is the result of 18 month's development work and has resulted in the World's first technology for the management and control of emulsions during application to the skin.'  So DCE/EMT has just celebrated it's 4th birthday!

Back in February 2016, I emailed Glyn in relation to DCE & Advanced Packaging with some direct questions which shed some further light:

    'Hi Glyn,

As you know I have been an avid supporter of OBJ for more than 6 years now and between 2 of us, we now hold a substantial interest in shares across various vehicles.  Due to this avid interest both technically and financially, I tend to follow OBJ's progress far more intrinsically than most.  This outlook sometimes leads to discrepancies that I am unable to answer without further dialogue with OBJ Management.  Would you be able to provide some clarity on the below issue please:

'In the recent 4D/Half yearly, OBJ advised the following 'Partner interest continues to grow in the area of advanced high performance packaging solutions, an innovation undertaken by the company in 2015 to expand its technology offerings.'

    http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20160226/pdf/435dn39n1sg054.pdf

The same paragraph was inserted/cut'n'pasted into the 'Shareholder Update - December 2015 Quarter' released 27/01/2016.
The only mention I could find in 2015 was in the 'Program Development Progress Report' - 04/11/2015 from bottom of page 2.  This mention seems to be the first and only mention of 'Advanced high performance packaging'; and again is the exact same paragraph that has been continually 'cut'n'pasted.:

    http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20151104/pdf/432qts3dtb40r2.pdf
As far as I can tell, DCE was announced 24/06/2015, and the first mention of 'high performance packaging solutions' was 04/11/2015 in the above announcement.  Have I missed something here?  Are DCE and 'Advanced high performance packaging' one in the same item?  Does this have anything to do with Imflux?

I understand only too well the need for secrecy, NDA's and Confidentiality in our markets, but for many of us it grows tiresome the need to constantly 'join the dots' and 'see the forest for the trees'.  All too often OBJ's announcements lack detail and leave far too much to the imagination for many in the Market, which leads to market volatility.  If you are able to provide any clarification on these matters or point me in the right direction to where this information has been previously outlined by OBJ Management, it would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Hi Xxxxx,

OBJ is highly innovative, in fact I would challenge another company having the depth and breadth of developments than we do. Why you will tend to see a lot of new product applications is that we are always seeking applications for the technologies which means identifying opportunities and pursuing these to some point. They either get fully developed and commercialised by our partnering companies (P&G licensing) or we develop them ourselves. But it is finding those applications that we can readily develop and have distinct advantages in the market place.

DCE has been under development for quite some time but we are now identifying potential applications for this exciting new technology. There is not one product. Rather it is a technology that seeks to be included in a variety of applications.

The packaging solutions is an area we have been looking at for some time. This is an area where OBJ can include its micro array technology in others’ packaging to enhance the product’s performance. There is no one product. We hope there will be many.

Hopefully that explains a little of what we are doing.

    G.D.

    Hi Glyn,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I wasn't intimating that there would only be one potential application for DCE.  My question was
'Are DCE and 'Advanced high performance packaging' one in the same item?'......meaning the same reference.

To word that question a different way so that you more easily understand:

When you refer to Advanced high performance packaging solutions, are you referring to the DCE technology platform?

    Regards

Not necessarily Xxxxx, the first application for packaging has micro array and no DCE, the second has both.

    G.D.

So where does all of this leave us now you may ask?  As of 09/11/2017, OBJ advised via their latest AGM Presentation that DCE/EMT has currently moved to 'Product Development' status:

Although the new Olay Whip 'Active Rush technology' was 10 years in the making, it appears that P&G will more than halve this time-frame to under 5 years for OBJ's Advanced Packaged DCE/EMT - Emulsion Manipulating Technology.  This time-frame in itself will be quite the achievement for the OBJ/P&G Partnership and further validates exactly why OBJ was recently named as P&G's Partner of the Year along with Racer Technologies:

'Two Partner of the Year Awards were issued this year. One to OBJ and the other to Mr Willy Koh, CEO of Racer Technologies, OBJ’s preferred manufacturing partner based in Singapore. OBJ and Racer have worked closely together on all the above mentioned P&G and SK-II product innovations.'

'The “Partner of the Year Award” is part of P&G’s Connect & Development program that recognises the contribution made by a select number among its hundreds of partners, for their innovation and collaboration that have driven P&G’s business results during 2017.'

    'With sincere appreciation for your
    partnership with P&G,
for creating value for each other
    via innovation and productivity,
    to improve people's lives,
now and for generations to come.'

From all of the the above (including Jeff's Cheshire smile), I can only surmise that in 2018 we will have a minimum additional 2 products via Advanced Packaging, with at least one incorporating DCE/EMT - Emulsion Manipulating Technology.  This accomplishment imo will indeed be a highly anticipated Milestone for the OBJ/P&G Partnership - it IS the culmination of 14 years of Research & Development and imo the 'end-game' for the Partnership - INTEGRATED REPEAT SALE PRODUCTS!

Apologies for the marathon post, but I woke up this morning with all this information in my head that I just had to get out .
