- radiation safety (the entire area for MRI, CT and Xray facilities need to be secured (MRI) or lead lined (CT, Xray) to prevent inadvertent exposure to magnetic risk/ionising radiation). For ultrasound and EMU, no such risk.
- diagnostic capability (this can be built upon, but first is the stroke capability for EMU which is a medical breakthrough)
Equitable access to healthcare is a big issue, especially for rural regions where the nearest MRI or CT scanner is over 1000km away. When it comes to strokes, every second counts.
