Latest quarterly from cortona was a good read. A number of interesting things in it were;
- "4,905m of RC drilling in 2 campaigns at the Wombola Prospects since listing" ; these guys look like they serious at trying to get a mine up and running ASAP
- "Cortona has started to build an exploration team in Kalgoorlie, from where the Company is best placed to manage both its existing projects, and further expansion to its land holding and resource base in the region." ; they are looking around at other land in the area at the moment which shows that they are working on building up a sizeable resource.
- "Finally, in light of the successful drilling campaigns, Cortona has commissioned a firm of independent consultants to re-model the Wombola Pit resource estimate. In addition to highlighting scenarios to expand and upgrade the current resource, the
Company intends to use the findings to better evaluate the additional exploration costs and likely time frame associated with bringing the resource into production at the earliest opportunity."; Initial resource upgrade should be out shortly
Also results from the current drill program should be out soon;
"During this review period, Cortona will continue its aggressive exploration with a RAB-drilling program designed to test one of the outcrop discoveries identified during last years mapping of the North Monger Project. The newly named ‘Lucia’ prospect is interpreted to lie in the same structural and stratigraphic position as Perilya Mining’s Daisy Milano mine (~260,000oz resource) which is located just
5km to the south. A RAB rig is booked to arrive on site in mid-July."
