Technological change is occurring everywhere and across economies. You don't have to think back thousands of years (unless you want to) - the last 35 years will do.
The invention of the Personal Computer changed the world forever (1982 but Xerox did not know what they had - from the USA)
the combination of the hardware and software made it work for everyone (Apple and Microsoft - USA)
Invention of the internet (Berners Lee gave it to the world for free - from the UK)
invention of smartphones (only have to go back to about 2007/8 for this - Apple and Google - USA )

Economies? Obviously the USA, the UK, Germany, France, China and India.........are at the forefront of modern technology. Either inventing it, or designing it, or manufacturing it, or all of them.

and so it goes on.

If that does not work for you, think of it in the context of cars. Or whatever your favourite entertainment tech is.
