Endocannabinoids enhance lipid synthesis and apoptosis of human sebocytes via cannabinoid receptor-2-mediated signaling." by pubmed suggests that topical application of CBD based ointments or creams definately show a strong correlation with lower levels of basal lipid production and effectiveness in treating seborrhea, psoriasis and acne. For those who are not in the know, the main treatment for severe acne is Accutane (isotretinoin) which has long list of horrifying side effects, such as liver disease, birth defects, depression, nausea, blurred vision....etc, so the demand for an effective safe and non intrusive alternative would be extremely disruptive to the market.
