Every state has severe storms. I can't recall another example of an entire state going black because some transmission lines falling over. I can't recall Victoria having load shedding black nuts because their gas peaking stations didn't turn on? The rush to renewables has caused poor deals, a weakened grid, etc etc.
Btw, have you read the market operators reports? Like the one from 2014 that specifies grid weakness as a problem?
