In the last week there have been a number of announcements that provide proof that energy decentralisation is now underway.

How soon will it be before an industrial hub is built around a wave/wind energy generation hub?

For example, Portland in Victoria has all the basic requirements for such a venture.  There is already an established port, industry is already established and it has wind turbine farms nearby.

The wave resource has been proven and licences have been approved.

It would seem an ideal location to build an industrial hub.  All it takes is for the government and industry to come together and make it happen.

If not Portland, what about Albany?
