Energy Developments, the Australian group known better as EDL, is set to auction its landfill gas operations in Britain, the Sunday Times reported. The unsourced item said RBC Capital Markets has been appointed to handle the auction, which is thought likely to fetch GBP 200m (EUR 252m). RBC is thought likely to mail out information to prospective suitors in the coming weeks, the report said.
The piece named likely buyers as Australia-based investor Macquarie, private-equity firm HgCapital, Terra Firma-owned energy company Infinis and Australian Viridis Clean Energy Group. Utilities are also expected to show an interest in the auction, which is thought likely to be very popular, the report said.
