My understanding is the heated stack in the bluegen would be the heat exchanger and water would be circulated through or past that . The warm water would then be kept in a storage Hot water service then heated to the working temp through an instantaneous gas unit ( rinni infinity)when required ???????

the best solution for hard water is to install a water filter. such filters are popular in S.A where the water quality is terrible
the heat heat exchange fluid in a solar pannel is similar to the anti freeze you use in your car ( solar pannels freezing in winter used to be a big problem )
