ENERGY INVESTMENTS CHANGES NAME TO BLUE ENERGY
Energy Investments Limited (ASX: EIV) has changed its name to Blue Energy Limited and will trade on the ASX under the code BUL from Tuesday 15 May 2007.
The name change reflects the renewed focus of the Company on its growing suite of coal bed methane (CBM) and oil and gas assets, said Managing Director Mr Sharif Oussa.
“The Company now encompasses the extensive portfolio of CBM tenements in Queensland and highly prospective conventional oil & gas farm-in opportunities in the Cooper-Eromanga Basin in both South Australia and Queensland acquired from Blue Energy Pty Ltd.,” he said. Blue Energy Pty Ltd was acquired by Energy Investments Limited in February 2006. In October 2006, Mr Oussa was appointed Managing Director/CEO of Energy Investments Limited and Mr Norm Zillman was appointed Chairman. Messrs Oussa and Zillman were founding shareholders of Blue Energy Pty Ltd and were substantially responsible for assembling the quality assets the Company now holds.
Shareholders approved the change of name at a general meeting held on 30 March 2007 recognising the future importance of the Company’s focus on its CBM assets and related expertise within the new Management team.
