Apology regarding yesterday’s Slugcatcher1 2 Tuesday, 8 November 2016
IN YESTERDAY’S newsletter, Energy News published an opinion piece by a regular contributor writing under the pseudonym Slugcatcher. The column titled "Life imitates art in the oil world" sought to draw comparisons between a fictional movie scene and the challenges faced by FAR Ltd.
The article is clearly demeaning to women in the industry. The resources industry is working hard at many levels to ensure women are appropriately represented at all levels. We regret this careless article is damaging to these efforts and offensive to the women and men striving to improve our industry.
In particular we acknowledge the tone of the article caused offence to Cath Norman and to many of our readers, for which we apologise.
