From what I have read & reflected in TON & SYR share price is the use of vanadium redox batteries for 'base load' energy storage. As I understand they have a longer physical life & many other advantages over Lithium-Ion for that application. Cars & electronic devices are another story & at present Lithium-Ion seems the best option but research developments are may change that quickly. Already adding various flavours of 'doped' graphene to the anode of a traditional lithium-ion battery provides huge benifits & graphene based 'super capacitors', these are not really 'batteries' but hold massive amounts of charge in a small light weight fast charging capacitor. However even these are at risk with hemp based super capacitors arriving on the scene.
Having said that, it appears Tesla's giga-factory is going to produce 'standard' lithium-ion batteries, at least for now.
My bet is that large flake, pure graphite will play a huge part in our future be it energy storage and/or high tech materials.
We live in interesting times.
