"I've read that vs2+ is good enough for clarity and it is better to spend money on colour and carats."

very clear that your questions are about 'value' - but, what looks good

looking good appears to be your dealbreaker and probably the most important

no point talking about investment factor with jewellery - consider it all lost anyway -- so -

if it comes down to 'something special' and 'that looks are important'

    first -
it probably won't wash with most - but, I've always been totally fascinated why people choose diamonds over a really classy sapphire - sapphire is a far far far better stone to live with - it's not only the second hardest rock on the planet - but, it's got tough written all over it - you can wear a true gem and you can work with it on without any fear of hurting it - where a diamond gives up very early in the fight --

anyway - as I said - not many would go there because of the 'it's a diamond' story.

    second -
as you have clearly said without saying it - on clarity - your chief concern is 'sparkle' - what does it look like --------

here's the test ------------------ look at them - look at many - some will stand out - some will not - it's that simple

personally with diamond - I also have a quirky like - except for pinks - and Ozzie browns (champagne - which are BROWN - just with a flash name) - I actually like browns - I think they are a beautiful stone -

but, I digress ---------------- as I said - I have a quirk - I like them to glow a colour under UV - which is a giveaway as to where they come from - I will let people dyor that -------- if they are quirky as well ---------it's just an area of interest

anyway - if it's a diamond one wants - and wants to wear --------- you buy it on what you see - not what you read on paper
