In addition to kingpins post ,on one hand you have rudd suggesting a very fast train linking brisbane to canberra then onto melbourne, very fancy ,great video pictures of very fast trains in japan and europe and makes a politician look visionary and brilliant, and who cares about the 100b plus price tag for something business says we don't require when compared to other essential infrastructure. On the other hand not once have i heard ANY business group suggest we need a very fast train from brisbane to melbourne, not to mention the obscene cost, but absolutely the no 1 piece of transport infrastructure ALL business says is required is a more efficient national freight network, but of course i guess video of a very slow freight train doesn't fit the pretty picture of rudds vision for a new world economy. A bit like his extravagant and imo impossible attempt to try and connect 93% of premises to fibre, sounds good and fancy just not required eg the 93% figure ,when compared to other essential infrastructure needs.
