Multiculturalism only succeeds when people join together for the greater good of the country and intermingle.
Look at the way the English, Italians, Irish, etc etc have all come to Australia most with no money to their name 80-100 years ago and integrated with all nationalities worked hard and built themselves into success stories not relying on government assistance their whole lives. They learnt english, learnt to give back to the counrty that gave them shelter, hope and a chance to make a better life.
Todays current wave of immigrants are not following the same path immigrants did 50+ years ago. They want gov handouts, they want to stay in their groups for life, want us to stop Australian traditions like singing carols at schools or Christmas decorations.
There has to be give and take, Australia would not be the country it is today with all the cultures that call Australia home if they didn't join together to make Australia a better country.
