The improved level of defence is proving to be a real problem for the continuity of the game. The defence can stand right up on the advantage line and close down any forward momentum in attack quite easily. This has led to teams playing defensively and resorting to kicking goals to win. The scrums are untidy because the opposing half-back does not have to retire and spoils any clean ball from the scrum. It messy and negates the reward for the hooker for winning the scrum.
As for Eddie Jones, he is no master, his tactics were either wrong or not executed properly.
The only tactic needed was to kick the ball as far down field into Englands territory as possible to stop them kicking goals. The mistakes and opportunities would have come.. they didn't do it
