Hi guys

For what it is worth Range must be able to be shorted as I could not initially get my full entitlement as I purchased a couple of extra Range shares before they went ex. I contacted Comsec on Wednesday as I was concerned when I did not get my full entitlement as I had purchased 25,000 shares from someone who had a short position in Range. Comsec is going to get my entitlement for the extra options off the shorter.

So I will get them in the end. The financial impact was always going to be minimal for me.

However, what I found significant was positive verification that a shorter was at work, not just someone dumping shares. In fact I did not know that it was possible for someone to go short in a stock like Range. Another piece in the puzzle of the Range jigsaw. I don't know why they will bother, as they will probably have to buy them back at a much higher price to cover their position, a risky proposition, given that drilling is about to start.
