i recall eric telling me about choking wells, his theory was that the charge was being lost too rapidly and by choking down wells and bringing them in slow they would raise EUR's (expected ultimate return) but i notice he is not talking that up anymore, and now moving into changing frac sand and different fracs like zipper fracs. i know a few geos who disagree with Graces choking back well strategy, and there are good arguments both ways.. but imho fracs have improved dramatically in mcmullen, and using better sands to hold the frac open may be a better strategy than just choke experiments, so we see sundance is now rapidly changing positions with frac designs and I really like that..
imho the EOG wells are not being flowed open hole to raise share price expectations, thats speculation.. they have consistently improvd EUR's and ip's YoY.. and their excellence in fracs are being mirrored by competitors..
