mh... laser against hypersonic missiles... That will be hard. Remember that at those speeds even with a laser you will have only seconds, max a minute, to destroy it. This requires applied energy not yet available from lasers. Even the US navy laser being developed can't reach those energy level.
Yess - eos can provide the guidance system but not the whole weapon.
I would more bet on railguns for the last 10km defence - with the projectile exploding in the path to disperse shrapnel.
