Australian coal was seen as a 'road to nowhere' due to the unpopularity of the product in this country - investment o'seas was seen as preferable
no body could foresee the war, it is just one of those random events but now everything understandable in hindsight
I understand what you are saying about BKI l held it for a few years many years ago and was great but has been pretty flat in recent years. 2 thoughts 1) we need to look at the return including dividends 2) we need to look at NTA. (eg AFI is trading at a silly premium)
