Keep in mind there are often many different types of short position holders on a stocks books each with their own motive and purpose and that in general most shorts are rotated on a regular basis as the cost to hold can be restrictive. Look for the patterns and spikes in the turnover. Then look to see how this correlates to the aggregate reported trades and positive and or negative spikes in SP as the trade will cause a change in the supply and demand dynamics. Tracking one can very helpful with tracking the movement of the other. Scatter chart of traded volume last 170 days for somewhere to start. Have fun ! My opinion only of course!
