"Aust Gov would have to be insane to let this slide." The issue is not whether the Aust govt "let it slide" but the WA govt.
The WA govt have too much invested in the growth of the Midwest and mining in general to not let projects like Karara go through, (although IMHO I think there are some investors out there who have been scared off).
My post was to illustrate that the relevant state govt minister is not shy of 'stepping in' if it thinks the EPA are not making the right decisions. Which is a bodes well for GBG's magnetite and hermatite projects.
