The EPA is not the consenting authority in this case. Its the Circular Head Council which are facing elections in 2022 after a newly appointed mayor was elected to the job only in late November last year. The new mayor is from Circular Head Dolomite and Trading. In this context, where it goes out for comment not long after the dolomite quarry adjacent mayor is elected is very curious. Having said that, as i have mentioned previously on these boards, last time the mine was activated there was a loud community opposition operation in effect - this may impact any voting, particularly if the voting happens after the october 2022 election.
You all should know this stuff, seeing as we have so much riding on this council - everything else is speculation.
