I don't think the app can tell the difference between 'fake' pain and real pain. Maybe once they get a big enough database then that may be a possibility. The benefit with this software is it has a numerical output i.e. a pain score which doctors/nurses can tailor pain relief to. Anything that takes out human error is well sought after.
I think a massive market is young children. Imagine how much mums would pay to determine if that cry was due to pain, or rather just a request for comfort or food.
