Finally received a reply from QLD Department of Mines and Energy regarding the current exploration permit holder of EPC890 - Rocklands Project (880 million tonnes inferred).
I sent off the request to them in response to media speculation from Jindal that Rocklands were no longer in control of a large part of their prospecting area. as per the following quote:
'However, it is learnt that Rocklands has surrendered a large part of the prospecting area but not disclosed the information to the shareholders'
This is their response:
'Dear Mr ####
I advise that EPC 890 is current until 18 October 2010 and is presently held by HLM Coal Australia Pty Ltd.
If you have any other queries regarding this tenure, please contact Kate Byrne, Registrar (Mineral and Coal) on 3406 2007.'
They also hold EPC930 - Richfield & MDL324 Hillalong, but neither are significant in terms of overall resource base. I dont think that Jindal would be specifically targeting the company for either of these prospects.
What games, are Jindal playing here?
