There I go? To where - to Google.
Iremember low prices were mentioned as a reason for not going ahead in 2016, butI don’t remember seeing any quantitative information on the price of silicon(i.e. the quartz in the pit).
It isdifficult to find anything on Google, but this is what I have found.
Achart of silicon prices from Oct 2013 to Oct 2019 does show a fall in prices inthe period 2013 to early 2017. That covers the time when NAMA and Rimbalabandoned the quartz.
Then therewas indeed a sudden large increase in price.
However,the new high price soon started to decline, and reached the earlier lows thatdiscouraged the earlier mining for quartz. It reached those low levels byOctober 2019.
What’shappened since? The USGS Mineral Surveys report on silicon shows the price flat-liningsince Jan 1919 to January 2021.
So the way I see it is this. If the price of silicon in 2016 was considereduneconomical then why is it considered economical now when the prices are thesame?
If Google has misled me then I am sure you will be able to put right what you frequently call my misinformation.
