I'll keep going on about digital advertising while i continue to own tls shares or until oml,apo and apn become to big or r purchased by global co's so tls would b unable to purchase such obvious business models that can clearly take advantage of tls's scale, networks and businesses..
U ask how much could tls collect from this caper?.When ten decided to off load eye corp i was suggesting its an obvious buy to drag sensis into new advertising technology.Singapore private equity ended up buying it for $220m ,they then sold off the US and UK sectors of eye corp for values i am not aware of.Singapore pe then did a dilutive capital raising to finance required capex.
But from day one eye corp /oml has been producing strong profit ie taking into account above and dividends current oml market cap is approx $780m.Imo without doubt way about $1b if US and UK divisions were not sold off.Not to mention the 'advertsing' technology has become so obvious for any co involved in mobile/digital advertising OML acquired a US co recently for $78m after previously selling off US locations.
Absolutely oml, apo, apn will have similar valuation to carsales, seek, real estate .com,autohome,and soufun and most importantly these co's make high profits and more importantly telstra can operate this type of business ie tls would own the locations, own the digital boards, sub contract the graphics and develop partnerships with global players ie ntt and china mobile so (sensis) advertising customers would have access to global customers ie in global hotels,on global roads/freeways,bus stops etc etc clearly with the obvious potential to attract global advertisers.
ps oml and apo will probably merge, that leaves 2 australian players apn and oml/apo.Mean time telstra continues to own 35% of sensis/yellow pages, bad management imo.
ps look at market caps of above co's ie carsales, real eastate, autohome etc,ie $4b to $10b whatever, soon these digital advertising co's will have similar market caps. All 3 digtal australian co's currently need captital to grow and compete with global players, whats tls doing ? buying drone technology?smarthome alarms etc.etc
